Did you feel cold today? It was probably because some of the coldest maximum temperatures for several years were recorded across the upper North Island. Most places reached only between 10c to 11c, with some areas not even getting to 9c degrees due to cloud from the northern low pressure system. Along with the cold, plenty of rain has been experienced in northern areas with strong to gale force winds across all of the region. Expect more of the same tonight until the low moves away from the upper North Island region tomorrow morning.
