From 1990, the Auckland data has been taken from the same site, using the same temperature probe technology (HMP155 & HMP45). Pre 1990, various other sites and manual thermometer technology was used.
The average daily temperature for the year 2020 was 16.90c, this is 1.21°c above the 1990 to 2022 average. The temperature trend using the moving 2 year average is currently upward.
