An upper level low in the Tasman triggered a line for slow moving storms between lower Northland and Auckland on Monday night.
Anvil crawlers were captured over the Hibiscus Coast and Auckland's North Shore as the storm cells headed southward. Puhoi had 86mm under one cell between 9pm to 12:30am.
