Squalls and downpours across the Upper North Island

Plenty of squally downpours this morning as an occluded front passed over the upper North Island. Generally 10 to 50mm across the region but some areas had intense rainfall under embedded thunderstorm cells. One of those areas was around the Tāwharanui Peninsula, where a thunderstorm developed off the Gulf and scored a 100mm direct hit on parts of Omaha.
