There was a small shallow magnitude 1.5 earthquake in the gulf at 3:16am this morning near the Auckland volcanic field. Location was 43km NE east of Rangitoto, 25km east of Warkworth, 18km SW of Little Barrier Island, 55km NE of Auckland This is in the same location as a M1.6 quake on 5th July 2019. The quake was too small to be felt but was recorded on our seismometer located on the North Shore within 9 seconds of the rupture.
