Small Hunua Ranges earthquake awakens an old fault

Interesting little earthquake last night in Hunua Ranges within the Auckland Volcanic field. GeoNet pinpointed the magnitude 1.3 on the extension of the Kohukohunui fault line that runs into the Firth of Thames fault. The last and only quake recorded by GeoNet on that fault line extension was a M1.8 on 2nd June 2011.
