Series of deep earthquakes to the North

There were multiple large deep earths 1100km to the North of NZ on late Wednesday night. The first was a foreshock M6.8 10:38pm NZT which was then followed by a larger M7.0 at 10:51pm NZT. The depth of this quake was 665 km, making it the deepest earthquake recorded on earth so far in 2022. This would have been located in the earth's upper mantle. the M7.0 was then followed by an aftershock of M6.6 at 11:14pm


The deepest quake ever recorded was a M4.2 in April 2004 near Vanuatu at 736km.
