A sequence of low pressure systems will take hold from Sunday 3rd May for the next 10 days. Strong winds, rain, downpours, possible waterspouts and a subtropical storm will all be part of the mix. The first system arrives Sunday and is associated with a strong cold front that will bring 20 to 50mm across the region and will be part of the first phase in drought breaking rains for the upper North Island
