It's been a wet 24 hours with more heavy showers to come over the next few days. There has been widespread falls of 50 to 70mm across the region with several areas above 70 mm, including a 224mm on the Coromandel peninsular at Pinnacles. Now that several rainfall events have occurred since May, run off into the water catchments is starting to accelerate.
